To the Tenth Supreme Council, Catholic Knights of America: D E A R S I R S A N D B R O T H E R S — W e respectfully submit this, our report, as the Sinking Fund Commissioners, Catholic Knights of America, and embrace therein a summarized statement of the fund from its creation on July 1 , 1885, to May 1, 1895. The total amount oL the Sinking Fund at this date is $270,- 630.56, consisting of $169,300 in town and county bonds, $101,000 in U. S. bonds, and $630.56 cash in Ohio Valley National Bank, of Cincinnati, Ohio; One $500 Lyon County, Ky. , bond; also* is on deposit with the Fidelity Trust and Safety Vault Co., of Louisville, Ky. ( for redemption, as per terms agreed upon June 8, 1892, from which we will realize about $250. We have $2,000 Kentucky and Indiana Bridge Co.'s bonds, purchased April 29, 1886. This company defaulted in the pay- ment of interest on these bonds September 1893, ar*d its affairs are now in the hands of receivers appointed by the court. The bonds are considered good, and their payment certain. Interest has been paid up to and including September, 1894; March coupon of 1895 being unpaid. Letters from the receivers state that as yet no steps have been taken looking towards a re-organization of the company. Five Lake County, Ohio, bonds, Nos. 17, 18, 19, 20 and 21, value $500 each, become dlie and payable July 1, 1895. The income derived from the Sinking Fund this date amounts to $12,460 annually—being $8,420 from town and county bonds, and $4,040 from 4 per cent U. S. bonds. 4 All purchases of bonds are made through our depository, the Ohio Valley National Bank, at the lowest market rates, without any additional charge by the bank.
