Page 3 In this study, NO 2 tropospheric column amounts were obtained from the NASA website (https://so2.gsfc.nasa.gov/no2/no2_index.html). The NO 2 maps over SEA were produced using high resolution daily gridded at 0.1°× 0.1°spatial resolution, which is then averaged over a 15-day window (Krotkov et al., 2017; Lamsal et al., 2020) . We used maps that represent 1 March, 31 March, and 17 April (the latest available data at the time of writing the original manuscript). We also used NO 2 data averaged over 2015-2019 (baseline), in order to detect the absolute differences between 2020 and the baseline data (Krotkov et al., 2017; Lamsal et al., 2020) . We did not use the NO 2 data from TROPOMI because data prior to 2020 is limited. Section 3.2 (pages 5-6) and Section 5 page 9 NO 2 concentrations should be read as NO 2 tropospheric column amounts.
