Regardless of COVID‐19, clinical problem might be due to other cause.[Image: see text] Dear Editor, we would like to share ideas on "Prevalence and risk factors for gastrointestinal symptoms after recovery from COVID-19. 1 " Blackett et al. studied on "147 patients without pre-existing GI condition" and noted that "At a median of 106 days after discharge following hospitalization….. 1 " In the previous report, persistence of GI problem occurring during COVID-19 illness was reported and it might clearly show the impact of COVID-19. 2 However, for the present report, the main problem is whether there is a hidden pre-existing GI condition if there was no previous complete investigation. The GI symptom might be associated with many causes. The silent parasite infestation is possible, and it can be a cause of GI problem in any patients regardless of COVID-19.
