A small fire in a laboratory sterilizer in the Freimann Life Science Center at the University of Notre Dame about 1 p.m. Tuesday (April 22) forced the evacuation of that building and the adjacent Galvin Life Science Center.
The fire was quickly extinguished by fire fighters from the Notre Dame Fire Department and there were no injuries. The buildings reopened about 1:30 p.m.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
