Demolition work in the basement of the Hesburgh Library at the University of Notre Dame began Oct. 22 and is expected to be completed at the end of February, when renovation and reconfiguration of the area will begin.p. The lower-level construction project will provide new space for study, library services and collection storage. The work will be completed in the spring of 2003.p. Constructed in 1963, the Hesburgh Library has grown from a collection 200,000 to more than 2.9 million volumes.
