Word has been received of the death of Marion Burk Knott, for whom a residence hall at the University of Notre Dame is named. She died April 15 at her home in the Baltimore suburb of Guilford of heart and respiratory failure. She was 92.p. A $5-million gift from Knott and her late husband, Henry J. Knott, underwrote the construction of Marion Burk Knott Hall, which opened in 1988 as a women’s residence. It was converted to a men’s residence in 1997.p.
