University of Notre Dame third-year law students Carah Helwig and Julissa Robles reached the final four of the National Moot Court Competition held earlier this month in New York City.p. Helwig and Robles, coached by Edward A. Sullivan and Robert J. Palmer, both adjunct assistant professors of law at Notre Dame, went to New York after winning a regional competition in Indianapolis last year. They advanced to the semifinal round of the national competition before losing to a team from the South Texas College of Law, the eventual champion.
The Notre Dame law students defeated teams from the law schools of Seattle University, Boston College, and the Universities of Pittsburgh and Alabama to join South Texas, the University of Minnesota and Drake University as one of the competition’s final four.
The competition is sponsored by the Association of the Bar of the City of New York and the American College of Trial Lawyers.
