Both of the tools used in this study (an evaluative rubric and qualitative analysis software) enable us to analyze the text of student research topics to establish meaning: in the case of the rubric, we can determine student research skill development; and, in the case of the qualitative software ATLAS.ti, we can discover thematic categories and subjects that students choose to write about.	cache/crl-16554.pdf	txt/crl-16554.txt
