In a Milanese picture, the Virgin and Child appear between St. Laurence and St. John. Virgin attend the mystical rite, and St. Anna places the hand of St. Catherine in that of the Child. two fine ancient-looking figures of St. Joachim the father, and St. Joseph the husband, of the Virgin, standing together; but all these female figure standing near represents, I think, the Virgin Mary.
