Since the late 1960s, Dutch libraries have described their library materials in a union catalogue, which is currently hosted by OCLC.2 Apart from this, Leiden makes use of three Ex Libris products: Aleph for our library services, DigiTool for our digitized special collections and Primo for discovery and delivery (see Figure 1). Figure 1: Graphic overview of the main systems used by Leiden University Library for the cataloguing of the special collections. The main aim of the project we started with OCLC was to create new formats for the description of graphic materials, such as prints, drawings and photographs, and to convert all of our special collections metadata to the standard used in the union catalogue. Creating a new service for digitization-on-demand of our special collections, built on the library catalogue. ./cache/work_scngevldbvdo3fdhvvyf64zxhu.htm ./txt/work_scngevldbvdo3fdhvvyf64zxhu.txt
