[8] [9] [10] To combat the adverse health, environmental and social effects of reliance on polluting fuels and associated HAP exposures, 11, 12 several African countries (e.g. Kenya, Ghana, Cameroon), have set aspirational targets for rapid market expansion of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for cooking. This timely pre-post study documented an extremely high proportion (88%; n=180) of households experiencing food insecurity due to income decline/cessation during the COVID-19 lockdown in a Kenyan urban informal settlement ( Table 3) .
