In general, a palliative approach aims to relieve suffering for patients with life-limiting conditions and for those who are dying and to manage symptoms, increase the level of care comfort and provide support to family members [8, 9] . Hence, there is a need to synthesize the findings of quantitative and qualitative research studies on the factors (facilitators and barriers) influencing a palliative approach in the ICU from the perspective of allied health professionals. Four types of influencing factors were identified: (1) organizational structures, (2) working environment, (3) patient and family involvement, and (4) palliative care decision-making. ./cache/cord-319642-ceur0n0b.txt ./txt/cord-319642-ceur0n0b.txt
