In this work, we use the SIR-DDFT model and an extended susceptible-infected-recovereddead (SIRD) model with hysteresis to investigate the effects of various containment strategies with model parameters adapted to the current COVID-19 outbreak in Germany. We compare the effects of face masks and social distancing/isolation and of various threshold values (of the number of infected persons) for imposing and lifting restrictions. This is an important advantage, since it allows to distinguish the effects of two of the main NPIs that were implemented against the COVID-19 outbreak: Face masks and other hygiene measures such as frequent hand washing reduce c, i.e., they decrease the probability of an infection in case of contact. ./cache/cord-188958-id9m3mfk.txt ./txt/cord-188958-id9m3mfk.txt
