We characterized with the help of BLAST searches those parts of the sequences of the iPCR amplification products that were denoted by Quist and Chapela in their Fig.2 as regions flanking the CMV p-35S sequence.We find that the sequence of AF434754 denoted adh1 in the K1 source of Fig. 2 does not match with the maize adh1 gene.
