This novel coronavirus was initially named 2019-novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV), however, currently the name has been established as the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2); with the disease being named as coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) (Coronaviridae Study Group of the International Committee on Taxonomy of, 2020) Since the first reported case, there has been a rapid increase in the number of cases, with outbreaks being reported in countries all over the world.
