The response in signalling pathways, gene expression, protein levels and metabolic profiles are regulated as a result of interactions in multilayer biological networks, hence a holistic view of the cellular response can be elucidated by an integrated approach. Here, we provide an analysis of transcriptional response after 24 h of infection, further, we integrated transcriptome profile with metabolic and protein-protein interaction networks to reveal multilayer mechanistic details of the SARS-CoV-2 infection in NHBE cells. Significant upregulation in expression of matrix metalloproteinase 9 (MMP9) in NHBE cells indicates that drugs which target MMP9 have potential uses in SARS-CoV-2 infection. This complex network structure between signalling pathways indicated that RAGE receptor targeting drugs have the potential to be used in SARS-CoV-2 patients to suppress symptoms. ./cache/cord-341524-zvic4xc9.txt ./txt/cord-341524-zvic4xc9.txt
