In subjects immunized with INO-4700 (MERS-CoV S protein DNA vaccine) durable neutralizing antibodies (nAbs) and T cell immune responses were measured, and a seroconversion rate of 96% was observed and immunity was followed for 60 weeks in most study volunteers 9 . We followed the induction of immunity by the selected immunogen in mice and guinea pigs, measuring SARS-CoV-2 S protein-specific antibody levels in serum and in the lung fluid, and antibody functionality through competitive inhibition of ACE2 binding, pseudovirus and live virus neutralization.
