SARS-CoV-2 was found in the bile juice from a patient with severe COVID-19 Coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), caused by the novel severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), has spread to 163 countries/areas since December 2019. Previous studies have reported that the SARS-CoV-2 could be detected in sputum, faeces, tears, urine and other specimens of infected patients [3, 4] . In the case report, the novel coronavirus was found in the bile specimen from a patient with severe Covid-19. In view of the patient's medical history, the attending doctor considered bile duct obstruction as one of the reasons for liver function failure.
