To understand the molecular basis of the potential interaction of SARS-CoV-2 to CD147, we have investigated the binding of the viral spike protein to this receptor in-silico. The entry of the virus into host cells is facilitated by binding of its transmembrane spike (S) protein with angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE-2) receptor (Hoffmann et al., 2020) . To understand the mechanism of interaction of the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein with the CD147 receptor, we have performed a four-stage in-silico study. The recently reported crystal structure of SARS-Cov-2 spike protein complex with ACE2 (PDB ID: 6LZG) reveals that the virus utilizes the external subdomain of the spike Receptor Binding Domain (RBD) to recognize the human ACE2 receptor . ./cache/cord-325282-20l9xcmg.txt ./txt/cord-325282-20l9xcmg.txt
