At day 7 post-transfusion with convalescent plasma, nine patients had at least a 1-point improvement in clinical scale, and seven of those were discharged. 22 We performed the present study to provide additional data on these initial clinical observations of patients' clinical course and subsequent improvement after receiving convalescent plasma therapy for COVID-19. Although our study has limitations, the data indicate that transfusion of convalescent plasma is a safe treatment option for those with severe COVID-19 disease. Our study was performed to evaluate the safety and potential benefit of transfusing convalescent plasma to patients with severe COVID-19 disease.
