Chloroquine, an old antimalarial drug (Blount, 1967) , was demonstrated to block virus infection at low micromolar concentration in Vero E6 cells infected with SARS-CoV-2 , thus suggesting the possible use of chloroquine in patients with COVID-19. With regard to COVID-19, a novel drug would target labile zinc fingers in SARS-CoV-2 proteins, thus destroying the proteins and producing an increase in intracellular concentration of zinc ions. ./cache/cord-311477-gm0vg53l.txt ./txt/cord-311477-gm0vg53l.txt
