To be included in this review, studies needed to meet the following criteria: (a) Study design: randomized trials, observational studies (cross-sectional, cohort and case-control), case series or case reports, and research letters; (b) Participants: children up to 18 years of age with laboratory-confirmed COVID-19; (c) Variables: epidemiological and demographic characteristics, clinical, radiological and laboratory findings, treatments, and prognosis. Thus, 46 articles [7] [8] [9] 14, 15, reporting 551 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in children were included in the review (Figure 1 ).
