The small molecules from NCGC-NIH Chemical Genomics Center Pharmaceutical Collection (i.e. NPC library) were used in virtual screening studies at the active site of developed TMPRSS2 model target protein. Interestingly, benzquercin was also found as potent hit compounds in our previous virtual screening study using same protocol against another important cellentry target of SARS-CoV-2 Spike/ACE2 (Durdagi et al., 2020) . In this study, a virtual drug repurposing study was performed to identify new compounds against TMPRSS2 which is an important target for the entry of the SARS-CoV-2 to the host cell.
