However, patients requiring emergency surgery before confirmed negative SARS-CoV-2 rRT-PCR test results are evaluated for the risk of transmission by infectious disease specialists and the infection control team based on 3 criteria: clinical signs or symptoms, epidemiological risk, and chest radiological findings (Fig. 1 ).
