On December 2019, Wuhan, China, reported an outbreak of the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 (COVID19) , an RNA virus that affects the respiratory system and has a high fatality rate especially in adults over the age of 60 and patients suffering obesity and its comorbidities [1] [2] [3] . Currently, the most effective treatment against obesity available is bariatric and metabolic surgery, which further resolves or improves the related comorbidities that are the same risk factors in developing a severe case of SARS-CoV-2. It is recommended that elective bariatric surgery be performed in medical facilities with the necessary infrastructure to treat obesity patients in a NON-COVID area. ./cache/cord-262556-gpnp06je.txt ./txt/cord-262556-gpnp06je.txt
