In this descriptive-cross-sectional study, a total of 784 samples of naso/oropharyngeal swabs of suspected patients with COVID-19 symptoms who had referred to Imam Khomeini, Shahid Fayaz-Bakhsh and Modarres hospitals in Tehran from February 24, 2020 to March 24, 2020 were examined by RT-PCR method. Therefore, in this study, we aimed at targeting these three genes using real-time RT-PCR method to examine suspected samples of COVID-19 and to determine the mortality rate due to this infection in different age groups in Iran.
