The investigation team defined persons identified by local health departments as "index patients." Households were selected by convenience sampling and considered eligible if the index patient was not hospitalized at the time, lived with ≥1 additional person, and tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 rRT-PCR from a nasopharyngeal (NP) swab collected ≤10 days prior to enrollment.
