Monitoring SARS-CoV-2 circulation and diversity through community wastewater sequencing 2020-09-22 .txt text/plain 5031 281 56 Here we have explored the possibility of using next-generation sequencing (NGS) of sewage samples to evaluate the diversity of SARS-CoV-2 at the community level from routine wastewater testing, and compared these results with the virus diversity in patients from the Netherlands and Belgium. Low frequency variant (LFV) analysis showed that some known LFVs can be associated with particular clusters within a clade, different to those of their consensus sequences, suggesting the presence of at least 2 clades within a single sewage sample. Moreover, we detected a total of 51 novel mutations present in sewage consensus sequences that were not previously reported (supplementary Table S2 ), of which 48 were supported by coverage above the set thresholds to be considered as high quality (coverage >30x for Nanopore; and coverage >5X and Phred score >30 for Illumina). ./cache/cord-342538-5bwsm290.txt ./txt/cord-342538-5bwsm290.txt
