In that study, nasopharyngeal swabs were collected from the children at the time of presentation and tested for common pediatric respiratory pathogens; the goal was to decrease the knowledge gap regarding the incidence of respiratory pathogens that affect children <5 years of age in low-and middle-income countries. In this report, we describe the respiratory pathogens detected in children aged 1 month to 5 years who presented to 1 of 2 district-level hospitals in Ghana with undifferentiated acute respiratory distress. Despite the limitations of this study, our results show that viral respiratory pathogens were frequent among children aged 1 month to 5 years who presented with acute respiratory distress to 1 of 2 district-level hospitals in Ghana. ./cache/cord-326004-wg47sd06.txt ./txt/cord-326004-wg47sd06.txt
