cord-291618-166wvdbt	Mikulska, Małgorzata	Epidemiology of viral respiratory tract infections in an outpatient haematology facility	2013-10-06		.txt	text/plain	4043	189	37	Viral respiratory tract infections (VRTI) are an important cause of morbidity and mortality in patients with hematologic malignancies, particularly in allogeneic haematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) recipients [1] [2] [3] . The symptoms of VRTI were divided into three main categories, and the rate of positive virological results was as follows: ILI 38 % (25 out of 65), fever only 30 % (9 out of 30) and upper VRTI symptoms 22 % (15 out of 67) (Fig. 1) Six patients had pneumonia; thus, BAL was performed and four viruses were detected (co-pathogens are reported in Table 2 ): one influenza A, two RSV and one coronavirus.
