To prevent false-negative SARS-CoV-2 nucleic acid-based test results, and develop a new sensitive detection assay, we evaluated the performance of real-time RT-PCR and digital PCR for detecting SARS-CoV-2 nucleic acid in clinical patient-derived samples and environmentally derived samples.
