Long et al 8 have described a variable antiviral IgM and IgG immune response to SARS-CoV-2 infection in a Chinese population in which seroconversion in a group of 285 patients from 3 hospitals showed IgG positivity for all cases beyond 17 to 19 days. The goals of this study were to ascertain key performance metrics of analytical specificity and cross-reactivity for a SARS-CoV-2 IgG serologic assay, perform a detailed cross-sectional and serial assessment of IgG and IgM antibody responses in suspected COVID-19 patients, and determine their relation to disease severity.
