The mumps antibody titer was significantly higher in the MS patients than in the controls. Patients and controls were asked whether they had ever contracted the following infectious diseases: rubella, measles, varicella, mumps, viral hepatitis, herpes simplex, zoster, pertussis, chronic sinusitis, and upper airways infections ( Table 2) .
