The novelty of the current collaborative research projectthe Western Cold and Flu (WeCoF) aerosol studylies in the fact that the fluid dynamics of the jet aerosols produced by a minimally-confined cough is being examined concurrently with the biological processes associated with virus droplet formation and transmission, using human subjects when they are naturally infected by influenza virus and, again, when they return to health.
