The key findings of this study include: (a) the greatest differences in demographics between respondents in the 2 regions were in age, educational level, and annual salary (respondents in northern hospitals were older and had higher educational levels, yet received lower pay compared with their colleagues in the southern region); and (b) despite these salary differences, those in the north consistently rated their job satisfaction greater in all areas except for professional opportunities. The findings of this study may help Chinese health care administrators develop strategies in improving nurses' job satisfaction that take regional characteristics into consideration, such as educational, income and consumption level, and philosophical and cultural differences.	./cache/cord-312229-k249jkse.txt	./txt/cord-312229-k249jkse.txt
