In 2009, a European investigation was done as regards the number of "high-level isolation rooms" (HIRs), i.e. airborne infection isolation units with negative pressure (not defined) with at least 6 air changes per hour and sluice (anteroom) [61] . CDC defines contact isolation, using gown and gloves when in contact with patients infected with resistant bacteria like MRSA and other MDROs (multidrug-resistant organisms), and single rooms are recommended [19] .
