[1] [2] [3] The management of IBD may differ by geography with economically more advanced countries having greater access to health care resources such as endoscopy and expensive therapies like biologics. 8 Recommendations include continuing all immunomodulatory medications in patients with IBD, reducing steroid doses as much as possible, limiting elective endoscopies, and encouraging telemedicine in place of in-person clinic visits. Respondents from 8 countries, both low and high resource regions, reported that they routinely tested persons with IBD with new gastrointestinal symptoms.
