Our findings indicated that the model was valuable and determined which factors influenced the decision to implement EMR exchange at these hospitals (perceived benefits, uncertainty, influence, and reciprocal investments). Therefore, in our model both TCT and SET variables were included as independent variables and weighted equally to provide a complementary theoretical foundation for studying the hospital decision to adopt EMR exchange.
