The COVID-19 pandemic posed a threat to essential palliative care services, including building connections between patients, families, and healthcare teams; mitigating isolation, loneliness, and fear; managing symptoms; determining care priorities in the face of life threatening illness; and promoting comfort, connectedness and dignity during the dying process.
