Here, we describe 11 cases of thrombosis in patients hospitalized with COVID-19 and demonstrate an association with neutrophil hyperactivity and NET release. As compared with the control group, patients with a thrombotic event demonstrated significantly higher levels of calprotectin, a marker of neutrophil activation (Fig. 1a) .
