The sample size restriction was applied for pragmatic reasons, as our early work demonstrated that studies of physical disease and resilient outcomes often involved complex analyses with multiple variables and that analyses with smaller populations were often underpowered. Bonanno (2004) defined adult resilience as "the ability of adults in otherwise normal circumstances who are exposed to an isolated and potentially highly disruptive event such as the death of a close relation or a violent or lifethreatening situation to maintain relatively stable, healthy levels of psychological and physical functioning …as well as the capacity for generative experiences and positive emotions.	./cache/cord-345086-vq4ei1do.txt	./txt/cord-345086-vq4ei1do.txt
