Upon admission, total white blood cell (WBC) count, ESR, and CRP levels were measured from blood samples before any medical treatment and multiplex respiratory virus polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was performed using nasal swabs. PCT levels showed a significant correlation with the peak temperature and duration of fever before admission as well as hospital stay. [12] [13] [14] We found that the level of PTX-3 reflects disease severity in children with LRTI by showing a significant correlation with the peak temperature and duration of fever before admission. ./cache/cord-258108-l9nzq9rv.txt ./txt/cord-258108-l9nzq9rv.txt
