Our objective in this paper was to investigate, at a small area level and controlling for socioeconomic and demographic factors, whether long-term exposure to air pollutants, such as particulate matter (PM 10 , coarse particles with a diameter of 10 µm or less) and nitrogen dioxide (NO 2 ), increased the risk of COVID-19 incidence and death in Catalonia, Spain.
