This process utilizes phage display for selection from germline targeting combinatorial libraries which results in the identifi cation of CDR residues amenable to human germ-lining without compromising on specifi city and affi nity. Nevertheless, phage display can be a relatively simple technology to use and when employed to harness natural repertoires of antibodies from immunized animals, it can offer a rapid path to highly specifi c, high-affi nity antibodies against problematic antigens .
