Even though the organisation is now called European Liberal Youth, it is still known as LYMEC, which is the abbreviation of the name when the organisation was formed in 1976. It was then known as Liberal and Radical Youth Movement of the European Communities. The current bureau consists of:[3] President:  Bulgaria Antoaneta Asenova (Youth of MR) Vice President:  Sweden Dan-Aria Sucuri (LUF) Treasurer:  The Netherlands Marten Porte (Jonge Democraten) Policy Officer:  Germany Marina Sedlo (JuLis and LHG) Communication Officer:  Finland Ida-Maria Skytte (Svensk Ungdom) Events and Training Officer:  Spain Laia Comerma (JNC) Outreach and Cooperation Officer:  Austria Ines Holzegger (JUNOS) The LYMEC office is run by the Secretary General.
