In addition due to increased use of antibiotic without a support of a diagnostic test in the treatment of URTI as observed in number of previous studies [11] [12] [13] , make the availability of epidemiological data on the patterns of etiology of URTI of paramount important. A cross sectional hospital based study involving 339 children aged 1-59 months presenting with RTI symptoms was conducted from October 2017 to February 2018 in the city of Mwanza, Tanzania.
