Furthermore, the minus-strand templates covering the putative promoter region used for an in vitro RdRp assay gave rise to synthetic products, suggesting that the JEV sfRNA could be initially transcribed from the antigenome and may be further trimmed by XRN1 or other unidentified exoribonucleases.
