Here we report yet another Melaka-like reovirus (named Kampar virus) isolated from the throat swab of a 54 year old male patient in Kampar, Perak, Malaysia who was suffering from high fever, acute respiratory disease and vomiting at the time of virus isolation. Here, we report the discovery and characterization of Kampar virus (KamV), the fourth member in the NBV species group and its isolation from a human patient with fever and acute respiratory illness. Due to the similar CPE morphology ( Figure 1 ) and cell line susceptibility patterns between KamV and the recently discovered Melaka virus (MelV), which also causes acute respiratory diseases in humans [5] , immunofluorescent antibody testing was conducted to examine cross reactivity. ./cache/cord-286708-igu984oc.txt ./txt/cord-286708-igu984oc.txt
