The evidence that suggests that the etiology of KD can be traced to an infectious agent includes temporal clustering and marked seasonality, geographic clustering, a strong association between the frequency of KD and infectious-disease surveillance [2, 9] , and age distribution (with the highest incidence among children 6 months to 2 years old, who have little maternal antibody and are, in general, the most susceptible to infection) [2] .
