The RT-LAMP test kit amplified the targeted RNA of a SARS-CoV-2 isolate with a detection limit of 1.0 × 101 copies/μL, which was comparable to the detection sensitivity of quantitative reverse transcription PCR (RT-qPCR). To evaluate the analytical sensitivity of the RT-LAMP method, we used purified and quantified total RNA of SARS-CoV-2, which was provided by the National Institute of Infectious Diseases, Japan, as a standard specimen for the molecular diagnosis of COVID-19.
